Best of Haute Couture: Highlights!

The haute couture shows have just come to a close after 4 intense days in the french capital… so, this is an opportunity to look back at the highlights from this french exception! the givenchy house opened the festivities with their show in the national archives gardens in paris, with a superb collection, marked with emotion that paid homage to elegance and to the work of mr hubert de givenchy who died last march. the english designer took a fresh look at the spirit of givenchy that has long been embodied audrey hepburn (the muse and friend of the late designer). the day after, the other big rendezvous was that of the dior house. a structure was erected in the grounds of the musée rodin, an array of celebrities and a collection that celebrated haute couture and its ateliers, the keepers of traditional know-how.day 3 and the 3rd large establishment, the chanel house, showed their vision of couture. again paris is at the heart of design. this time karl lagerfeld was inspired by paris, the booksellers, the seine riverside and the colours of the capital to devise this inventive collection. the designer has definitely earned an eternal place in the fashion pantheon! a transgressive haute couture at jean paul gautier, always ready to break the codes, playing with humour and audacity! smoking or not smoking brings rebellious freedom and men and women with exposed nipples!note simplicity at the schiaparelli house, which advocated electrifying colour that was similarly seen at giambattista valli, flower women inspired another italian designer pierpaolo piccioli at valentino and also at giorgio armani in the golden rooms of the italian embassy in paris, where they showed a collection that paid homage to true couture, something that was skillfully borrowed by the roman label fendi who brought fashion week to a sunny close!
