Burberry Show - Men's and Women's Collection Spring/Summer 2018 in London (with interviews)

access_time 00:01:50

Chief creative officer and president of burberry: christopher baileyinspiration: in west london, in the historic dimco buildings which date back to the 19th century, christopher bailey, delivers his final collection after 17 years at burberry. the décor is incredible, originating from a multi-sensory installation on loan from the mona museum in australia, shaping the show thanks to the art group united visual artists (uva). a collection entitled ‘time’, in which christopher bailey wanted to show his support to the lgbtq+ community with rainbow colours integrated with the famous burberry check until the light spectrum during the finale. adwoa aboah opened the mixed show and cara delevingne closed it. sat in the front row are those loyal to the brand and honoured guests such as naomi campbell, kate moss, jordan dunn, keira knightley, zendaya, paris jackson and naomi watts.collection: sporty and young. the turning point that unfolded in the previous collection last september was even more present this time around, with numerous hooded and zipped sweatshirts, loose jumpers with patched details, embroidery and colourful ‘burberry’ logos. tulle skirts and pyjama sets with blended prints. the trench comes back in its basic and loose form, notably worn over an orange jogging set. the jackets and outwear are reinvented in burberry colours. the check is also proposed in ever so british shades of red and green. a huge graffiti puffer appears alongside short shearling jackets. pieces dating from the eighties and nineties have been re-edited into the capsule collection, available for sale immediately after the show. to note: the rainbow colours, celebrated in the lgbtq+ community are extremely present in this new wardrobe, jumpers as accessories, the puffer worn by edie campbell, already a hit for the coming months. interviews: sienna miller: i think it’ll be a complete spectacle, i know some of the girls who are walking in it, and i expect to feel a little bit emotional, because i already do. but i think it’s a celebration of what he’s achieved which is just stupendous. jourdan dunn: it’s very emotional that he is actually leaving. anna wintour: i remember talking to him about the idea of moving the show back to london and i think that really, completely changed the face of british fashion, he put a spotlight back on london in a way that was just remarkable. i think i’m expecting optimism and joy and creativity and fun and everything that celebrates what christopher is. idris elba: he’s been very very loyal to the english cut and the styles and the fabrics and traditional looks. he’s always managed to find a way to make them stay with the times. adwoa aboah: it’s supporting a movement, a community that i back full force and so i mean, it was beautiful, i’m so happy i was involved.music from the show (for use only in context of the show, under cover of the right to information)
