Accused of selling products from blacklisted factories, Amazon has published a list of the 1,000 or so companies that produce goods for its private labels – a step in the right direction, according to Human Rights Watch.
Amazon Fashion has launched five of its own private-label brands in Europe, but another 103 have already been introduced in the US by the web giant, although it denies claims it is competing with client brands.
Amazon India is betting big on tier 2, 3 cities for growth of its fashion vertical in the country. The company claims that tier 2, 3 cities currently contribute around 60 to 65 percent to its total fashion sales.
Amazon India has seen is fashion category overtake electronics as the largest driver for customer acquisitions, while Amazon India’s fashion segment is now the fourth largest business for Amazon Fashion global.
