According to the British press, contemporary retailer Whistles will start trading in China and Hong Kong from August thanks to a partnership with department store Lane Crawford. Three existing Lane Crawford stores in Hong Kong and a newly-opened location in Shanghai will carry 60 pieces from both Whistles’ core collection and its premium range Limited Edition. Items will also be available to shop on Lane Crawford's website.

China is the next step in Whistles’ international expansion plan that earlier this year saw concessions open at department stores in Berlin, Paris and Moscow. The move is in line with the company's growing Chinese customer base, who typically shop the brand at department stores Harrods in London and Printemps in Paris.

Whistles reported a 20% increase in like-for like sales in 2012 and double digit growth in like for like sales up to April 31 2013.
