Urban Outfitters customers poke fun at the company’s pricing

Urban Outfitters found itself to be the butt of many jokes this week when customers shared their outrage of the company’s high pricing on social media.
The hashtag, #UrbanOutfittersBeLike, was created after a customer posted a tweet questioning the company’s pricing. The item in question was a single hairband that retailed for $8.
A similar example of high pricing cited by the press is Urban Outfitters' $12 "Never Run Out Ponytail Holder Ball", an actual ball made of 35 hair ties. At target.com, a package of 37 similar hair ties retails for between $4.59 and $6.49 (the price depends on the colour), while at Wal-Mart customers can purchase 30 similar ties for $3.87 (all black). It may or may not be worth noting that the Urban Outfitters hair tie ball appears to consist of four colours.
Customers on Twitter had a fantastic time giving it to the company by posting fictitious descriptions of products and outrageous prices.
Although FashionMag.com rests neutral on the matter, we do want to offer our readers a small taste of what Tweeters had to tweet this week:
