Tata group’s luxury watch brand Helios from Titan Ltd has forayed into travel retail segment with its first airport store in India at the Mumbai airport.

Titan’s Helios store is looking to capitalise on the expansive retail arena at Terminal 1 of the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) coupled with the high number of passenger footfalls to increase sales.

The watches business of Titan grew from Rs 499.73 crores (approx $78 million) in Q1 last year to Rs 509.92 crores (approx $79.6 million) this year, recording a growth of 2%.

The company in its quarter results press release had stated that it will continue expanding and had growth plans in place for all its retail businesses – watches, jewellery and eyewear.

The offerings at the Helios airport store will cater primarily to a younger audience, since a majority of sales for the brand come from shoppers under the age of 40.

The store will house watch brands including the likes of TAG Heuer, Tommy Hilfiger, FCUK, Hugo Boss, Timberland, Police, Titan, Esprit, Seiko, Fossil, DKNY, Diesel, Kenneth Cole, Citizen, Guess, Raymond Weil and many more, the company said in a statement.

Many retailers are turning to the Mumbai airport and over the past few years, CSIA has witnessed the debut of more than 30 brands, such as Adidas, Lacoste, Fossil and Delsey and many more.

Helios - The Watch Store owned Titan Company Limited is a high-end multi-brand watch chain and houses over 30 premium international watch brands.
