Feb 9, 2016

The second edition of the Future of Fashion Program, jointly organised by the Who's Next - Première Classe trade show and the young designers' platform Not Just A Label has delivered its verdict. The programme featured thirty young blades at its inception last September, and at the January show the final among the best fifteen of them issued three winning names: Ilkecop for women's ready-to-wear, Mai Gidah for men's ready-to-wear and Anisha Parmar London in the accessories category.

The jury was presided by consultant Gretchen Harnick (Pattern to Plan) and included representatives from the show and from the Not Just A Label website. It chose three winners after a series of coaching sessions with each of the finalists. The three prize-winners will engage in a mentoring programme to develop their brand.

The next show will thus feature, wearing the winners' laurels, Ilkecop, from the name of its Brussels-born founder, Ilke Cop, Mai Gidah, the menswear label launched by London-based Ali Abdulrahim, and Anisha Parmar, an accessories and costume jewellery designer also based in London.

The Future of Fashion Program also announced that a third edition of the award will indeed be held, its thirty entrants to be presented at next September's Who's Next - Première Classe show.
