Tata Trent Q4 revenue up 18 percent, posts profit of Rs 12 crore

Tata group retail firm Trent Ltd posted standalone net profit of Rs 12 crore (approx $ 1.8 million) for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2018. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 25 crore (approx $ 3.8 million) for the corresponding period of the previous fiscal

The revenue of the firm rose 18 percent to Rs 529 crore (approx $ 79.3 million) for the quarter from Rs 448 crore (approx $ 67.2 million) it had posted in the same period a year ago.
Speaking on the performance, Noel N Tata, Chairman, Trent Limited in a statement said, “We are pleased to report strong operational performance for the financial year coupled with robust growth. Westside has continued to perform strongly aided by its emphasis on own brands and has also opened the most number of new stores compared to any previous year."
“We are confident that going forward, our growth and profitability will be sustained on the back of consistent focus on own brands across formats and growing emphasis on delivering a differentiated customer experience,” he added.
Trent Ltd is part of the Tata Group and operates Westside, one of India's largest retail chains that sells products ranging from apparel, footwear, accessories to cosmetics and perfumes to home accessories. It currently has 125 Westside stores across 63 cities.
