Tata Cliq to add new segments, expand brand portfolio by next quarter - Tata Cliq

Tata Cliq, which currently sells more than 800 brands mainly in fashion and electronics segment, plans to scale up to 3,000 brands by adding newer segments including home, kids wear, jewellery, toys and stationery, according to an Economic Times report.

“We are not limiting ourselves to only entering select categories, but focusing on building capabilities in delivering the online and in-store seamless shopping journey,” a company spokesperson said.

“We are partnering or investing in different logistics and service providers that could help us fill need gaps and bring additional competencies in this space.” The spokesperson said Tata Cliq is exploring several categories such as furniture and beauty, which are different businesses in terms of logistics and supply chain. “Grocery is an entirely different business which we will probably enter slightly later,” the person added.

The firm is roping in top sellers across segments, including FMCG, fashion and mobiles, from bigger rivals. Sellers said Tata Cliq’s seller incentives and benefits are similar to that offered by Amazon and Flipkart.
