A new business development in Swiss luxury watchmaking: Sowind, which owns the watch brands Girard-Perregaux and JeanRichard, is acquiring a minority stake in Roud'Hor, the two companies announced in a statement without disclosing the details of the transaction.

Through the deal, Sowind, the Swiss luxury watchmaker based in La Chaux-de-Fonds, which joined Kering in 2011, “consolidates an important industrial partnership in the watch component manufacturing sector" the company said in a statement. It’s an approach, moreover, that is becoming increasingly common for luxury watch brands...

"This acquisition of capital is an important stage in our industrial plan aiming to support the development of our brands," added Sowind CEO Michele Sofisti.

With this financial support, Roud'Hor, an independent company located in the center of Swiss watchmaking that produces gear-trains for top luxury watch brands, will be able to accelerate its development and step up its growth strategy.
