Nov 28, 2014
He’s one of the greatest fashion photographers of the twentieth century. With "Guy Bourdin - Image Maker", Somerset House intends to pay due homage. One of Vogue Paris and Charles Jourdan’s favorite photographers, Bourdin is as famous for his fashion spreads as for his advertisements, which are both provocative and mysterious, usually entailing bright colors.

The exhibition will feature more than 100 photos—some of which have never been seen before—taken between 1955 and 1987 by Bourdin, who died in 1991. Drawings, sketches ands notes will also be on display until March 15, 2015.
Two morel highlights include a book on sale titled "Guy Bourdin: Britain by Cadillac" featuring the photographer's work traveling round the island in the iconic American car, shooting a campaign for Charles Jourdan, and a capsule makeup collection from Nars Cosmetics, inspired by the colors in Bourdin's work.
Last year, Bourdin’s work was also given the spotlight by the cosmetics brand NARS, which released a collection inspired by his work, including packaging using some of his most famous photos. NARS is also sponsoring the exhibition. Tickets for the exhibition are priced at £9 (approx $14).
