Sephora opens fifth Mumbai store, will open 8 to 10 stores a year moving forward
The multi-brand beauty chain Sephora recently opened its fifth store in Mumbai at the Oberoi Mall in Goregaon which marked the business’ 17th store in India so far as it continues to expand country-wide.
The new Sephora store in Mumbai is spread across 3,130 square feet on the ground floor of the Oberoi Mall. The new store retails Sephora’s own brand cosmetics line as well as its international brand selection that includes Stila, Smash Box, Benefit, Makeup Forever, Cover FX, and Becca. Luxury beauty brands including Dior, Estee Lauder, Clinique, and Tom Ford are also available in store. At the launch, the Australian brand Klara Cosmetics launched its 100 percent colour pigment range for the first time and Jo Malone and Olive will also soon launch new collections in store.
Vivek Bali, the Chief Operating Officer for Sephora India at Arvind Beauty Brands spoke to IndiaRetailing about the business’ future plans for India and said: “We continue to promise the customer about 6-10 new brand additions every year which we will be exclusively available at Sephora. We have started our journey in the urban centres as 60 percent of the business comes from here. Balance 40 percent comes from the Tier II and III cities which are very important. Sephora will be embarking its journey in Tier II cities this year. We are registered a double digit growth with Sephora.”
Sephora is also present in cities across India including New Delhi, Noida, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Chandigarh, Bangalore, and Pune.
