Saint Laurent art sale nets 373.5 mln euros (484.5 mln dollars)

PARIS, Feb 25, 2009 (AFP) - The sale of late fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent's private art collection has pulled in a record 373.5 million euros (484.5 million dollars) over three days, Christie's said Wednesday.

"I am very happy tonight. I am certain that all those who acquired these works of art will cherish them," Saint Laurent's companion, Pierre Berge, told reporters as the biggest private art sale in history wrapped up in Paris.
