Riccardo Tisci to be honoured at the CFDA Fashion Awards 2013

Published
Mar 14, 2013

The CFDA Fashion Awards will take place on June 3 at the Lincoln Center and will once again be broadcast live on Style.com. The prestigious CFDA International Award, which last year went to Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garçons, will this year be awarded to Riccardo Tisci for his work at Givenchy.

Without much surprise, nominees for the women’s wear category are Marc Jacobs, Proenza Schouler and Alexander Wang. Last year the award went to the Olsen sisters for their luxury line, The Row. Up for best menswear are Michael Bastian, Thom Browne and Duckie Brown’s Steven Cox and Daniel Silver, a New-York based duo who recently collaborated with Perry Ellis for a collection.

As has been the case for the last ten years, Swarovski is the event’s official sponsor and will present three awards for fresh talent in womenswear, menswear and accessories. Nadja Swarovksi will co-present the gala with Diane Von Furstenberg, president of the CFDA.

Up for the Swarovski Award for Womenswear is Creatures of the Wind, Cushnie et Ochs and Suno. Nominees for the Swarovski Award for Menswear are Public School, Tim Coppens and Todd Snyder. The Swarovski Award for Accessories will go to either Irene Neuwirth, Jennifer Meyer or Pamela Love.
