Peter Pilotto was chosen for the prize because of the duo's "creative talent, innovation and craftsmanship." Now, they've worked with Atelier Swarovski on the jewellery for its Autumn/Winter 2016 collection. The collection, which "mixed wintery references from ski trail prints to ethereal Nordic symbolism," featured Swarovski crystal embellishment, to lend it an icy look.

The models also wore jewelry pieces including earrings, chokers, necklaces and bracelets from Peter Pilotto’s inaugural collaboration with Atelier Swarovski. The pieces were sewn onto the sleeves of metallic jacquard dresses and styled into hairpieces.

Peter Pilotto commented: “The idea of the collection was a winter landscape, from its natural brown shades, and some very artificial looking colors that winter skies can have sometimes, to a softer palette as the snow fell on the ground, getting lighter and softer. We called the jewelry collection ‘Arbol’ because it’s a little bit like a mechanical tree or branch, and with the crystals it is a bit like a frozen branch. That’s what fascinated us.”

Christopher de Vos commented: “We loved twisting the jewelry pieces and using them in the hair and in more unusual ways. We kept some things classic and some things more ‘show’ like. I think it’s always important not to overdo it with jewelry and that’s what we tried to do with the collection. We love the collaboration, we think it’s so strong. We respected the essence of Swarovski stones, but we tried to use them in a mechanical shape setting that was very modern, cool and understated. The stones on the clothes complemented the collection so well and they added to the icy feeling that we really wanted."
