As per the agreement, swim apparel and accessories are launching now at sporting goods retailers, department stores, swim specialty shops and at select commerce channels in Latin America.

"We are confident R1 Sports Ltda, Uldin SA and Superdeporte will be terrific partners to bring Nike Swim to consumers passionate about performance and the sport of swim throughout South America as we continue our strategy of extending Nike Swim's global reach," remarked Oscar Feldenkreis, Chief Executive Officer & President of Perry Ellis International.

Nike made changes to its international business in late 2016. In November, the sportswear company shut down numerous retail locations in India, and in December it announced that it would stop supplying small sports retailers in January 2017.

Also in November, the company opened its first Kicks Lounge in Latin America at the Costanera Center in Santiago, Chile.

The new distribution agreement is Perry Ellis’ second agreement in 2017. The company announced a license agreement with Euroneck in early January for the design and distribution of men’s accessories for the Perry Ellis and John Hardy brands in Mexico. The first collection will launch in this spring.
