Perrin Paris opens first store in Asia and launches pop-up at Galeries Lafayette

Perrin Paris is making some big plans. After opening its first store in Paris at the end of January at 3 rue d’Alger (1st arrondissement), the lovely French women’s accessories and leatherwear brand is pursuing further development by opening its first store in Asia. 

The 270 square foot corner is located in the chic Hong Kong department store IFC and should serve as a jumping off point for the label in order to expand into the region.

Designed by architect Shahan Manaissian, the space emphasizes understated elegance. It is Perrin Paris’ fourth location following Beverly Hills in Los Angeles in 2008, Madison Avenue in New York in late 2011, and the opening in Paris earlier this year. 

The brand’s news doesn’t stop there: it is also opening a pop-up store on the first floor of Galeries Lafayette at the beginning of June. The pop-up, which will remain open until June 27, should give a good degree of visibility to this niche brand, which is successfully distributed in a dozen countries, such as Italy, Russia, the US, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore.

Perrin Paris has its roots in Saint Junien, Haute-Vienne, the historical capital of French glove making, where it still produces its glove collections exclusively with French or Italian leather, as well as its clutches, leather-rimmed sunglasses, pockets rimmed sunglasses, etc. 

The brothers are the fourth generation to head the company, which was founded in 1893, and which they relaunched and renamed Perrin Paris in the 2000s. Chloe Perrin, Michel’s daughter (fifth generation), has served as its artistic director since 2013.

Perrin Paris is both a gloves and tannery business that has been transformed over the course of a century into a luxury label. Drawing on its dual expertise as a glover and a tanner, the brand specializes in new glove and accessories concepts. 

Among them: the creation of the glove clutch, which allows a good grip on the clutch. It is now the flagship product of the brand, which sets itself apart by extremely good quality and very specific products.
