Renzo Rosso’s Only The Brave (OTB) has acquired Italy-based accessories label Paula Cademartori for an undisclosed sum.

Announcing the deal, Rosso said the Italian-Brazilian designer who is known for her colourful bags and shoes, would retain creative independence and would continue to create “brave” products. Meanwhile OTB will offer the structural support that a large company can bring.

Cademartori said the move offers her brand a huge opportunity for growth and development.

The label has grown fast in recent years and has become a celebrity and street style favourite in the process. It is currently stocked in a number of key multibrand boutiques and department stores including 10 Corso Como in Milan, Galeries Lafayette in Paris, and Harvey Nichols in London. It is also available via luxury online retailers such as farfetch.com and Moda Operandi.

Earlier this month WWD reported that OTB was looking at a number of potential acquisitions with Paula Cademartori being one of them.

OTB has been on the acquisition trail for some time with the group now including the Diesel, Maison Margiela, Marni and Viktor & Rolf brands, plus Staff International and Brave Kid. Its turnover last year was €1.59bn.
