Oriflame appoints Frederic Widell as managing director of India

Swedish direct selling beauty brand Oriflame has appointment Frederic Widell as the managing director in the Indian market. Widell has also been elevated to the role of vice-president and head of South Asia.

Widell has taken charge from Sergei Kanashin from August 1 and will be heading the operations in India and also be responsible for business growth in the South Asian region.
 
Commenting on his appointment, Widell said, "My heart has always belonged to Oriflame and it’s quite impressive to see how the brand has established its position keeping alive its core values. Much of the brand's vital philosophies are reflected in its business success. I am looking forward to steering the India business ahead and making this iconic brand further achieves its full potential.”

Fidell has been with Oriflame for more than a decade and was the Managing Director for the company in four different key Oriflame markets; Sri Lanka, Vietnam, India, and Indonesia.
 
Oriflame, which entered India in 1996, currently has five subsidiary brands that focus on skincare and three main wellness products comprising Wellness Share, Omega 3 and Swedish Beauty Complex Plus.
