The US-based nautical apparel maker North Sails is arriving in Spain. The iconic brand has decided to expand into the Spanish market with the opening of a store, to be located at Consell de Cent at the heart of Barcelona.

The store will cover over 400 square meters and is set to open sometime in October or November, said the Spanish newspaper, Expansión. It will be North Sails’ first brick-and-mortar shop in Spain, although it is already distributed in department and multi-brand stores.

North Sails Apparel is the iconic fashion branch of North Technology Group, an American company that designs and builds sailing products. Earlier this year, the company hired Gucci’s former president, Robert Polet.

Last year, North Technology Group was acquired by the British investment firm Oakley Capital. In 2013, it reported $157 million in revenue.
