Mytheresa came into the hands of American giant at the end of 2014. Logically, the American group needed to choose someone to lead its German acquisition. This job has thus been entrusted to Michael Kliger, who will head mytheresa.com and the historic eponymous store as of March.

The executive, who until now has been at eBay, succeeds Thomas Mueller, who decided to leave the company for personal reasons. He will report to Joshua Schulmann, president of Bergdorf Goodman and NMG International. At MyTheresa, managing director Jens Riewenherm and head of purchases Justin O’Shea retain their roles and will therefore report to Michael Kliger.

Mytheresa, born of a physical concept store, has in a few short years become the leading online-stores for luxury fashion in Germany and other countries. Michael Kliger's profile also leads one to believe that his mission will consist of reorganising the company, which has seen strong growth, and of creating a synergy with Neiman Marcus.

The new head started his career in Munich at McKinsey, where he was a retail specialist for twelve years. Next he worked at Real, the supermarket chain, at Accenture, the insurance company, and finally at eBay Enterprises.
