The Italian fashion week has arrived. The six-day program kicked off this Wednesday with a runway show by Chicca Lualdi. The event, which runs until September 28, features the spring/summer 2016 womenswear collections of Italy’s most notorious brands.

Nearly 70 shows are scheduled on the official program. The most-anticipated collections include Alessandro Michele’s second womenswear line for Gucci, which presented its summer offerings on Wednesday afternoon. The Italian house is working at the moment on revamping the brand with a new aesthetic.
Stella Jean, one of Italy’s most promising young talents, also presented on Wednesday a collection that was inspired by the Italian immigration.
Another highlight was Phillip Plein’s catwalk show. The German designer, who has headquarters in Switzerland, always provides the most spectacular show in Milan.
Other Italian brands, such as Prada, Versace and Giorgio Armani, will present their runway shows in the following days.
