Only a few weeks ago, Dom McBrien was presenting New Look’s “click-and-collect” project. But the executive, who was serving as the chain’s e-commerce director, will no longer be there to witness the efficiency of the new service. He is now making his way to Marks & Spencer.

In his new function of multichannel trading director, Dom McBrien will report to Laura Wade-Gery, executive director of multichannel ecommerce. Marks & Spencer explained that McBrien will be responsible for day-to-day multichannel operations, but said that his starting date has not yet been decided.

Having previously worked for the Arcadia group (Topshop, Topman, etc) and Microsoft, his new mission at Marks & Spencer will be to make the British giant a leader in multi-channel commerce, with an increase in sales to between 800 million and 1 billion pounds by 2013-2014. This growth will be achieved via stores, e-commerce and telephone orders.
