Only a few days before the beginning of New York Fashion Week, Marc Jacobs announced that its show has been rescheduled to the last day of the week, on September 15 at 8:30pm. According to the fashion house, the reason behind the decision was all the time lost by the staff, who were unable to get on with last-minute preparations when hurricaine Irene hit the city a few days ago.

Although only 3 days later, this slight change in dates may complicate some people’s agendas. The brand’s New York show is one of the most highly expected of the season, especially with rumours circulating that Marc Jacobs may be moving to Christian Dior. However, by that time a lot of international buyers and members of the press will be on a plane to London, making their way London Fashion Week. The latter will end on September 21, which is the same date that Milan’s fashion week starts. Then, on September 27th, people will make their way to Paris Fashion Week, finally ending the marathon of fashion weeks on October 5. Aware that not everyone will be able to make it to the new date, Marc Jacobs has promised to broadcast its show online to those who were unable to attend.

In addition to Marc Jacobs, New York Fashion Week will also see many other brands showcase their collections, such as Phillip Lim, Proenza Schouler, Rodarte, Michael Kors, Diane von Furstenberg, Ralph Lauren, Vera Wang and Jason Wu. Zac Posen will also be making an appearance on September 11.
