La Perla to launch an Indian e-commerce store by November
The Italian lingerie brand will expand its presence in India this year by launching a dedicated e-commerce site, a male innerwear line, and growing its existing shop-at-home service.
The CEO of La Perla in India, Sapna Shehrawat, is currently overseeing the creation of a dedicated e-commerce store for La Perla in India and the launch date is set for November this year. The platform, which will have the address Laperla.in will carry the brand’s range of lingerie, lounge wear, accessories, and ready to wear.
The brand will also launch its men’s innerwear line in India this year, which will include underwear and loungewear. On top of this, La Perla will expand upon its shop-at-home service to include more locations.
Shehrawat told Vogue India about how she uses her personal style to show how the brand’s aesthetics can fit the Indian clientele. “Take the Freesia bodysuit,” said Shehrawat, “one of our bestsellers—I’ve worn it with velvet trousers, and even paired it with a sari.”
La Perla was founded by Ada Masotti in 1954 in Bologna, Italy and the business began its life as a corset manufacturer. In May 2016, Julia Haart was appointed as the brand’s global creative director encompassing the brand’s ready-to-wear line.
