Ivanka Trump announced on Monday that she will be stepping down from her eponymous fashion line. The decision to leave behind her label will allow her to concentrate more on her future in politics and to abide by ethics laws.

Ivanka’s husband, Jared Kushner, has accepted a position as the President Elect’s Senior Advisor. Kushner will also be setting aside his real estate business and his ownership of The New York Observer to focus on the couple’s upcoming move to the White House.

Since Ivanka and Kushner will be moving into the White House to support her father’s presidency, Federal ethic laws require them to step down from their positions and relinquish all profit shares of the Trump Organization. Ivanka will be selling all her common stock in the Trump Organization and stepping down from her executive role with the company.

Ivanka was forced to re-examine her role in her company in November after she received a flurry of negative press for self-promoting a $10,000 bracelet from the Ivanka Trump line during one of Donald Trump’s 60 Minutes spots.

Just under three months ago, Trump announced that her company will be adding two new licensing agreements to its portfolio, including a jewelry collection with Lord & Taylor and a baby collection with A.D. Sutton & Sons. The line will continue on, but Ivanka will no longer have any part in the company.
