Intersport International opens first 'Intersport Run & Fit' store in Russia

In St. Petersburg, Russia, Intersport International opened the first 'Intersport Run & Fit', a new store concept dedicated to running and fitness. "These specialist stores, with an area between 200 and 400 sq m, are the perfect complement to the multisport stores extending over between 600 and 1,500 sq m", explained Mikhail Landyshev, Intersport's CEO in Russia. Over the next three years, he plans to open about ten Intersport Run & Fit stores between Moscow and St. Petersburg. 

And besides Intersport Run & Fit, scheduled to launch next in Australia, Germany, Italy, Spain and Slovenia, Intersport International is about to develop a network of specialist stores.

Intersport Team Sport should see the light of day in the second or third quarter 2016, while Intersport Outdoor will be launched in 2017.

The chief objective is to attack city centres and shopping malls, offering a more specific expertise. In 2014 the purchasing group recorded revenues for € 10.5 billion, and plans to open fifty specialist stores between now and 2019, in 14 different countries.
