The next edition of Interfilière Paris, the tradeshow event for the lingerie, swimwear and activewear industries and their suppliers, will be held on July 7-9, featuring some 260 exhibitors - a figure on par with previous sessions - but with a broader selection of brands on show. The show will also welcome 45 new exhibitors, including several international manufacturers.

Some of the brands are rookies, while others are making a return, such as leading Brazilian circular knitting specialist Rosset, absent from the show for ten years.

Delfa, a Brazilian producer specialised in large bra cups, will also attend, profiting from the fact that Brazil is the guest of honour at the Unique (formerly Mode City) trade show next door.

Among other exhibitors, the Turkish manufacturer of ‘vegan’ fabrics Ipeker, the Portuguese textile specialist Lemar, the Chinese manufacturer of eco-sustainable bra cups Polysil and Indonesian textile group SWK.

Also, Spanish textile designers Colombian Prints and their Italian colleagues Perion Design, the French specialist in flocking and fabric printing AET, and Austrian manufacturer of magnetic fastenings Gerhard Fildan. Italian circular knitting specialist Borgini Jersey will also make a long-awaited return to the show, after a ten-year absence.

“What we were keen on for this edition was to bring in a variety of new specialists,” said the show’s director Laurence Nérée, talking to FashionNetwork.

“This is why we focused on major names, which would be exhibiting for the first time. Our scope has broadened. We strongly believe in the initiative we launched last January, when we showcased products by yarn manufacturers which weren't exhibiting, providing additional content for visitors. It’s a different concept, but for us it’s essential to break new ground. We must find new ways of working together,” added Nérée.

Besides the exhibition proper, Interfilière will also feature five sections dedicated to industry trends and technology.

The ‘Forum Général’ section is sponsored by Ipeker, which will present a range of seasonal colours for the Autumn/Winter 2019-20 focused on pyjamas, as there is a special emphasis on homewares in this edition of Interfilière.

The ‘Momenti di Passione’ section, dedicated to summer 2020, zooms in on athleisure and activewear and draws inspiration from the film ‘Black Panther’, featuring technical prototypes that combine design and new technology.

For the first time, the ‘Forum Innovation’ and ‘Tomorrow’ sections will share a joint area: the former will challenge visitors on the issues of sustainable development and the circular economy, the latter will showcase works by students of French textile technology institute ENSAIT, and hold meetings in its communal area.

Finally, a new section called ‘Cups’, entirely dedicated to bra cups, will showcase the innovations developed by cup manufacturers.

As for conferences, show organiser Eurovet decided to assign each of the event’s days to one of its partners. Lectra, a specialist in industrial solutions, and design agencies Nelli Rodi and Carlin will stage catwalk shows, workshops and talks on a range of subjects from big data to influencer marketing, sustainable development and Industry 4.0.
