Hummel bets big on India, appoints Soumava Naskar as Head Business Development
Danish sportswear company Hummel is looking to become one of the major players in Indian market. To help them achieve this target, the company has appointed Soumava Naskar as Head Business Development, India.
The former Brand Marketing head at Jabong will now be responsible for leading Hummel’s marketing strategy as they look to enter the brick-and-mortar space in India. Naskar will report to Chief Business Development Officer Henrik Svenning at Hummel.
Commenting on the brand’s India plans, Svenning said, “We are excited about the Indian market and are looking to invest in becoming one of the major players in the sports and lifestyle category in coming years. As a brand, we believe in changing the world through sports and we see many wonderful collaboration opportunities in India.”
Speaking about his new role, Soumava said, “Hummel is one of those rare sports brands with a strong character, it’s my privilege to be part of the India story.”
Founded in 1923, Hummel is one of the oldest team sport brands in the business. The brand is currently available in the Indian market on Flipkart firms Jabong and Myntra.
