On October 5, Hermes’ new brick and mortar store opens in New Delhi and is located in the Chanakya luxury mall in the city’s Chanakyapuri district.

After first opening in New Delhi at the Oberoi Hotel before shifting to the city’s DLF Emporio, Hermes has found its new home at the Chanakya luxury mall. The Chanakya was opened by its owners DLF (who also own the DLF Emporio) in September. Hermes is to be the star of the mall’s luxury brand list as it opens in time for the festive season. Hermes will join international brands such as Versace and Thomas Pink and Indian brands such as Grassroots by Anita Dongre and Nirav Modi in the luxury retail space.
Hermes has a 207 square meter space in the mall and the store was designed by a team led by Denis Montel of RDAI, the French architecture agency. The store looks simple, clean, and elegant but it also has a touch of glamour to cater to its Indian clientele. Inspired by the peacock, iridescent metallic finishes adorn the fixtures and the hue of the natural looking wood cabinets is reflected in that of the monogrammed floor.
The boutique will include the brand’s signature printed silk scarves, a leather goods department, and both their men’s and womenswear collections. There is also a VIP room for important customers as well as a section dedicated to the brand’s jewellery and watches.
