Last year, Happy Socks’ end-of-year campaign with David Lachapelle cemented the brand’s offbeat personality. This year, the Swedish socks brand has released a surprising new collaboration with a recording artist.

For winter, American rapper Snoop Dogg (aka Snoop Lion since his turn towards reggae) has been enlisted for a campaign, approving three Snoop-style pairs of socks.

Entitled “The Art of inspiration”, the campaign accompanies the artist as he explores his creative abilities as a painter.

The approach also reinforces the brand’s business with its habitual end-of-year pop-up store blitz. It’s opening a pop-up store at 101 rue de Rennes in Paris’ sixth arrondissement, for example, that will stay open until January 7. In total, the brand has 6,000 retail points in 70 countries.
