H&M and Topshop voted worst shops in the UK

The latest survey from UK consumer watchdog Which? ranks the 100 best and worst shops in the country, as voted for by nearly 9,500 consumers.

The best shop in the UK, according to shoppers, is beauty and skincare company Lush, which customers say has "excellent products and helpful and friendly staff." Department store giant John Lewis comes in at number 2 and gets five-star ratings for products, customer service and store environment.

Topshop/Topman, H&M and BHS all got really bad scores this year - and all fell by 20 places or more from their rankings in 2014. BHS came in 96th place, out of a hundred, as customers found its stock "dated". It is followed by H&M in 97th place, rated poorly for service, though products, stores and prices scored a bit better. Topshop/Topman came in at 98th place, receiving low ratings for everything except customer service.

Which?'s research also revealed that almost seven in 10 UK shoppers (68%) visit their closest high street at least once every two weeks.
