Gap Inc. announced that it will open two new flagship locations in the heart of Times Square for its namesake brand and Old Navy. The company plans to open separate locations for its brands, which will be situated at the current location of the Toys “R” Us store.

Toys “R” Us decided to not renew its lease, which will expire in late 2016, and Gap will begin construction on the stores shortly after. Construction is expected to commence in early 2017. The stores will be 31,000 square feet each.

The company’s flagship store announcements follow its recent decision to close 175 Gap stores and cut jobs at its headquarters in the next few years. Gap Inc. is being more selective about where it opens new locations for its brands.
