G-Star is taking its footwear back into its own hands
A transition involving several stages for G-Star. The Dutch brand has decided to take back direct control of its footwear activity. Indeed, for the past nine years it has been distributed under license by British supplier Overland Shoes Limited.
"G-Star RAW has deemed that it would be more beneficial to recuperate this product internally to better align the design and development," the brand explained.
To start off with, as of June, G-Star's commercial teams will collaborate with the shoe specialist teams to be ready to hit the market the next summer season. As for the creative teams, they will begin their work in November 2015 to develop the fall-winter 2016/17 collections.
G-Star has thus constructed a team dedicated to shoes. The brand also has an eyewear license with Marchon but has no current plans to take back direct control.
