Filson is riding high in London. The American brand, which joined Bedrock Manufacturing Co. (Shinola) in 2012, opened its first store in Soho, London, last year.

With its oil finish tin cloth coats, sturdy shirts, messenger bags and other accessories made at its brand new head office in Seattle, the brand has found its clientele in the UK. And so, it is opening a new store to double its surface space across from its current store at 9 Newburgh Street.

"We are very happy with the progress being made in Europe," says Gray Madden, the President of the brand which presented its latest collection at Pitti Uomo in Florence. Great Britain is our leading market, followed by Germany. But France and Scandanavia are also growing. We have to let the brand make headway on these markets before we can start planning any openings. Maybe in 2017."

There are some 700 multi-brand stores around the world that carry the brand, and in the United States Filson has four stores with an upcoming revamp of its flagship in Seattle. Currently present in Portland, Minneapolis and New York, it may soon set up shop in San Francisco and Houston.
