Fendi celebrates 50th anniversary in Cannes with Karl Lagerfeld

Fendi has gone to Cannes in order to celebrate its 50th anniversary with Karl Lagerfeld. Since 1965, the German designer has overseen the LVMH-owned Roman label’s ready-to-wear collections. To celebrate the milestone, the label has launched a book devoted to the designer and to his half-century collaboration with the fashion house. There could only be one title: "Fendi by Karl Lagerfeld"!

The precious volume was presented during the inauguration of Fendi’s new store on la Croisette in Cannes. It comes packaged is a box that also features a DVD. Published by Steidl, it’s available in Fendi stores and a selection of leading bookshops around the world for 100 euros.

The book focuses on 50 questions put to the designer and is accompanied by a selection of 200 drawings and sketches of clothes from Fendi’s most representative collections from the past 50 years. The final image is a mosaic portrait of Karl Lagerfeld composed of more than 50,000 drawings made by the designer.
