With the inauguration of its first Uniqlo boutiaue in Singapore, the PDG of the group – Tadashi Yanai (27% shareholder) – indicated on Monday 6 April that the brand’s presence could exceed two hundred points of sale in Asia, over three times the current level of sixty.
The expansion will take place by opening both standalone boutiques and others in joint-venture with local partners in: Hong Kong, China and other countries across Southeast Asia.
Uniqlo is the flagship brand of the group, specialising in comfortable, good value and simple design. It contributed up to around 85% of the group’s turnover (total: 586.4 billion yen).
