Farfetch taps The Outnet’s Stephanie Phair
Phair will lead Farfetch’s global strategic direction, innovation, M&A and corporate development and will own P&L responsibility for new business lines.
In addition to founding the luxury off-price ecommerce site TheOutnet.com, Phair sat on the Executive team of the Net-A-Porter Group for seven years until 2015. She departed from the group in November shortly after the merger with Italian etailer Yoox Group was completed.
Throughout her career Phair has worked for Issey Miyake, American Vogue and at Portero in NY. Most recently she has consulted with a number of start-ups in the digital space and advised PE firms on investments.
José Neves commented: "Stephanie joins a stellar team at Farfetch at a time of exponential growth. Her extensive knowledge of the global e-commerce landscape along with the operational and strategic vision that comes from having built-up and scaled a global business will be a vital asset to ensure sustainable long-term growth, as we continue to expand.”
“Innovation is at the core of the Farfetch business and there is so much opportunity to continue building the global platform for the fashion industry,” added Stephanie Phair.
2016 has been a crucial year for the London-headquartered company. In addition to serving its one millionth customer and launching the brand campaign #TheOne, Farfetch created e-commerce sites for Manolo Blahnik, Christopher Kane and Ami Paris via its white-label solution Farfetch Black & White.
Additionally, the platform raised $110 million in a Series F round of funding in May.
Phair’s appointment follows the hire of Jeffery Fowler as President of Farfetch NA. He will be based in Farfetch’s New York office.
