Acquired in 2011 by Italian group Zeis Excelsa, Belgian brand Dirk Bikkembergs is pursuing its international expansion. On the horizon are several new openings: the Sofia store will open in a few days’ time, followed by Belgrade later this month. Stores will open in Shanghai and Beijing in June and September respectively.

In the past month, the brand has opened a two international points of sale in Riyad in Saudi Arabia and Istanbul, Turkey. The Turkish store – which measures 150m² - is located at 21 Abdi Ipekçi, in the heart of city’s fashion district. Here, both the men’s and women’s collections can be found, as well as footwear and accessories.

"The Istanbul store is a step towards achieving our ambitious international expansion plan. Further to our 45 already operational points of sales, including the recently-opened store in Riyad, additional openings are scheduled in important shopping destinations across the world, from Dubai to Rome and Shanghai," says Maurizio Pizzuti, CEO of Zeis Excelsa, which reported a turnover of 100 million euros in 2012.
