Diesel CEO Daniela Riccardi to depart

The news comes as a shock to many. Daniela Riccardi, CEO of Italian denim brand Diesel, has made the decision to leave the company, choosing not to renew her contract which is soon to come to an end.

Diesel announced the departure of its CEO and thanked her for her work at the company. According to the brand, Daniela Riccardi will leave her position of CEO of the Diesel Group on 1 April to pursue other professional endeavors.

Riccardi started at Diesel in 2010 when she was recruited by Renzo Rosso, who previously headed the jean’s brand that he created in 1978. At the time, Renzo Rosso explained that he wanted to focus his efforts more on the development of his fashion group OTB. Choosing Riccardi as CEO was a first time the brand recruited externally, marking a real change for the group.

Before arrving at Diesel, Daniele Riccardi spent 25 years at multinational company Procter & Gamble, where she became president of the Chinese subsidiary. Diesel has yet to appoint a new CEO.
