Diane Von Furstenberg is preparing a new development strategy for her label. The godmother of American fashion has enlisted the services of a veteran of the U.S. fashion world, Joel Horowitz, to assist her in running the company's board. Horowitz was with Tommy Hilfiger from 1989 to 2003 as president, COO and CEO of the brand. He is credited with having helped Hilfiger establish itself in Europe and supervising its exit from the stock market through the investment fund Apax Partners in 2006.

Paula Sutter, CEO of Diane Von Furstenberg, will now report to the DVF–Horowitz team.

“I’ve seen so many opportunities over the past few years, but none have shown as much potential or excited me as much as DVF,” the 61-year-old executive told Women's Wear Daily a few days ago. “Diane and her team have created something incredibly special that consumers all over the world appreciate, and I look forward to working with the management team to further grow the business.”
