Cult beauty brand Glossier poised for UK launch

Apr 11, 2017

Glossier, the beauty company launched by Into The Gloss CEO Emily Weiss, will be available in the UK later this year for the first time since it launched in the US in 2014.

The beauty brand, a favourite among beauty editors, celebrities and enthusiasts, has confirmed plans to launch in the UK this year with the UK becoming the third market where it is available after the US and Puerto Rico.

Glossier has gained a cult status for its low-key aesthetic, strong social media presence and clear brand philosophy.  Conceived as a beauty movement inspired by “what girls need in real life”, Glossier specialises in easy-to-use basics that can form the backbone of everybody’s beauty routine.

The New York label did not provide further details on the launch, but the news comes just months after the business received a $24 million investment from San Francisco-based adventure capitalist firm IVP.

Glossier founder and CEO Emily Weiss said in a statement in December that the investment would be used to open the first retail store and launch two new product categories.
