Converse hires Andrew Buckler to head its design team

Converse has just appointed Andrew Buckler to the newly created post of vice president of global creative design. Surprisingly enough, the announcement was made by the designer’s eponymous brand, rather than by the Nike-owned American brand. Although he will no longer be designing for his own brand, Buckler will be entering its board of directors.

Born in London, the designer studied at the Royal College of Art and is currently a member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America. He founded the Buckler brand in New York in 2001 and specialises in men’s fashion.
