Club Monaco adds Jean Shop as its latest Maker & Muse
Club Monaco has announced that the latest addition to its Maker & Muse series will be Jean Shop. Designer Eric Goldstein will bring his specialty, raw selvedge denim, finished locally at his store on Crosby, to the international lifestyle retailer this summer.
Club Monaco will give behind the scenes access of Jean Shop’s design and manufacturing process that will launch on social media platforms. “Hand distressing is a processing that is literally done by hand on every pair of jeans,” said Goldstein. “There are certain tools that are used to distress the hems of the jeans and to make whiskers and give the jean an overall vintage aesthetic. This is the old school way of crafting a jean by hand.” Goldstein’s stores have several tools that each does the job of distressing denim particularly.
Eric Goldstein founded Jean Shop in 2004 with more than 20 years of experience under his belt, literally. The brand was founded and is based in New York City, and specializes in designs cut and sewn in Los Angeles and NYC.
