Claire’s appoints Beatrice Lafon as head of its European business
Beatrice Lafon has just been appointed as the new president of the European division of fashion accessories retailer Claire’s, replacing Kenny Wilson. She will supervise the overall operations for approximately 1100 Claire’s stores across thirteen countries, including the United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, Continental Europe and three Eastern European countries , in order accelerate the retailer’s growth in the continent.
Prior to this, Beatrice Lafon served in executive positions at TJ Hughes in the UK and Etam Group in the Netherlands. But her new job at Claire’s will be no easy feat, given that Claire’s latest second quarter results, ended on July 30 2011, showed a 6.5% decrease in sales in Europe.
