Christian Siriano to design bespoke dress for Minnie for upcoming Minnie Rocks the Dots installation

Disney in collaboration with Refinery29 will preview their installation Minnie Rocks the Dots on National Polka Dot Day with a red carpet event in Los Angeles on January 22. The interactive art and fashion installation traces the history of Minnie Mouse’s influence on pop culture and fashion from 1928 through the present.
 

And who better to dress the fashionable icon Minnie than innovative designer Christian Siriano. Known for his fashion-forward and playful designs, Siriano is set to reveal his custom designed dress during the January 22 preview event. “I drew inspiration from Minnie Mouse’s ability to light up a room and designed a dress for her that is happy, playful and what I like to call ‘downtown chic.’ I also infused some special touches to celebrate her classic polka dots,” said Siriano on his inspiration for the dress.

The exhibit, which opens to the public January 23, will feature dresses Minnie has worn from several countries including Russia and Mexico, photographs, archival sketches and imagery and portraits of other fashion icons.
