Fashion house Christian Lacroix has announced a new North American licensing deal. The Paris-based, American-owned brand has signed an initial five-year agreement with Accessories Headquarters (AHQ) for the design, production and distribution of the brand’s men’s and women’s leather goods andtravel accessories. Sacha Walkhoff, artistic director since 2010, will oversee the design of the collection which will debut in May 2013. The new collaboration will mark the brand’s first real foray into women’s leather goods.

Pieces from the collection will retail between 300 and 900 dollars for the main line and between 75 and 300 for CXL by Christian Lacroix. The collection will be sold across various distribution channels, including department stores, specialty stores, and e-commerce.

"We are very much looking forward to expanding our activity in North America with this new partnership and are very confident that the expertise of AHQ Inc in the handbags category will enable us to build a successful business" said Nicolas Topiol, CEO of Christian Lacroix.

Earlier this week, Christian Lacroix also announced a licensing deal with Italian group Lubiam for menswear. Since relaunching in 2009, the ready-to-wear collection has become the brand’s driving force. A possible comeback for women’s ready-to-wear could be on the cards for the coming seasons.
