Campus shoes to tie up with top retailers to boost sales
Campus Shoes owned by India’s leading conglomerate Action group is planning to expand its presence across India and aims to acquire a wider consumer base by collaborating with the country’s top retail giants.
Campus Shoes will partner with retailers like Shoppers Stop, Avenue Supermart Ltd (D Mart), Metro Shoes and Reliance Footwear who will house Campus products in their stores. The partnership is scheduled to start in August beginning with tier III & III cities and will slowly move into metros once the company launches its premium products.
As growth is slowing down online and the footwear market getting competitive with players like Bata, Liberty and a host of international brands eyeing a bigger share of India’s booming footwear market, Campus is banking on large retailers to drive sales.
"Given the crucial role of bringing the products closer to the consumer, played by the modern retail chains spread across the country, it makes sense for Campus shoes to be associated with them. It's a shop-in-shop arrangement in two segments of key accounts vertical-regular non-discounted retail chain and discounted retail chain-wholesale/cash and carry," Managing Director Nikhil Agarwal, Campus Shoes said in a statement.
"With these associations, Campus Shoes aims to gain a wider customer base, build the brand strong and increase its product's exposure and sales. Once our higher range of products is launched, we will target the Tier 1 cities/metros through these retail chain outlets," added Nikhil.
Campus Shoes, a company based in Delhi has around 5,000 employees and 20 manufacturing facilities, at various locations in India. The company has around I20,000 Retail Outlets and an online portal Campusshoes.com. The brand is also available on all leading e-commerce platforms in India.
