C&A Europe: Philippe Brenninkmeijer taking on the reins on his own

C&A Europe tried out a two-person leadership team by appointing Hans Ploos van Amstel as the General Co-Manager. A role he served for just 18 months. For this position, he was notably the first to not come from the retail chain's founding family. He has just left the group. Following this departure, C&A Europe has returned to the "traditional structure of just one CEO." Philippe Brenninkmeijer has thus been appointed CEO.

Hans Ploos van Amstel knew the Brenninkmeijier family well though, having served as the CFO of Cofra Holding, the family's financial structure and owner of C&A, for several years. Before joining Cofra, he was the CFO of Levi Strauss. He started his career at Procter & Gamble, where he worked for 14 years.
