On July 1, Brooks will enter the Chinese market through online with T-Mall and Amazon and via brick-and-mortar distribution at key sporting goods retailers in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. The performance footwear brand will launch apparel and sports bras in China in 2018. Brooks said it will also enter Brazil in July, in partnership with sporting goods retailer Centauro.

“Brooks is 100% focused on the run, and it’s important that our brand is part of the running community across the globe,” said Brooks CEO Jim Weber. “Following success in Europe, Japan and Canada, entry into China and Brazil represents the next step in our global expansion strategy. I’m excited about the opportunity to inspire more people around the world to run and be active.”

Founded in 1914, Brooks Running Company sells performance footwear, apparel, sports bras and accessories in over 50 countries, including Germany, Italy, France and the United Kingdom. Brooks plans to strengthen its presence in these countries and explore opportunities to enter new countries in 2018.

Russell Brands acquired the Seattle-based company in 2004, and Russell was later sold to Berkshire Hathaway in 2006.
